and we have learned that chutney is not just something that is sold in a jar.  We discover recipes that use warm Indian spices and try them for our holiday food, or reach for holiday recipes with fiery hot chiles to put zing into the relish that goes on a Thanksgiving turkey.  We mix sweet with tart to give depth and richness to a Christmas roast beef.

Holiday meals are traditional meals and we want to continue our traditions, but do it with new flavors and new recipes. If you are shy, try a holiday recipe ahead of time.  If you are known to experiment, stack up all the new holiday recipes you can find and try some recipes on Thanksgiving, the remaining holiday recipes on Christmas.   Holidays are for pleasure.
