Ground Turkey Hamburger

  • 1 pound ground turkey
  • 1 cup uncooked oatmeal
  • 1 small onion, minced
  • 3/4 cup red pepper, diced
  • 1/2 cup shredded zucchini
  • 1/4 cup catsup
  • 2 cloves garlic, pressed through a garlic press
  • 2 tablespoons dill pickles, finely chopped

Method

Mix all ingredients well, being sure to distribute garlic evenly through the mixture. With lightly oiled hands, form into patties.

Preheat the broiler, with top of broiler tray removed to stay cold.  This prevents patties from sticking while preheating builds heat underneath.  Spray or oil the top of the tray.  Cook under broiler set on medium height for 7 to 9 minutes on each side. Serve as you would any hamburger with condiments of your choice.

Serves: 4 - 6, depending on patty size
