Sausage Chili

"Where I come from, some folks like to make sausage chili instead of ground beef chili. It makes good chili, too." Cliff

  • 1 tablespoon vegetable oil
  • 1 cup onion, chopped
  • 1 pound ground sausage
  • 1 15 ounce can tomato Sauce
  • 1 5.6 ounce can tomato paste
  • 1 cup water
  • 2 tablespoons chili powder
  • 1 teaspoon ground cumin
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder

 

 

METHOD

Heat oil in large skillet. Stir in onion and sausage. Cook over medium heat only until onions are tender and sausage is no longer pink. Do not overcook.

Drain off excess fat, add tomato sauce, tomato paste, water, chili powder, cumin and garlic powder. Simmer over medium heat for half-hour.

Serves: 4 - 6
