Banana French Toast

This is a lovley breakfast treat on a lazy Sunday morning. (Or for Mom on her special day.)

  • 8 slices bread (I use raisin Bread)
  • 2 medium bananas, cut in 1/4" slices
  • 1 cup milk
  • 4 oz. cream cheese, softened
  • 3 eggs
  • 1/3 cup sugar
  • 3 tablespoons flour
  • 2 tteaspoons vanilla
  • Powdered sugar (optional)

 

 

METHOD

Heat oven to 350 F.

Place 4 slices of raisin bread in a single layer on a buttered 9"-square baking dish . Top with bananas, and remaining slices of bread.

Blend milk, cream cheese, eggs, sugar, flour and vanilla in a blender until smooth. Pour over raisin bread and let stand 10 minutes.

Bake 40-45 minutes until set and top is toasted.

Let rest 10 minutes, then cut french toast into diagonal halves and remove to serving plate.

Dust with powdered sugar and serve .

Serves: 3 - 4
