Salmon Burgers (Canned Salmon)

  • 1 (14¾ oz.) can Alaska Salmon
  • 1 egg
  • ½ cup onion, chopped
  • ½ cup green bell pepper, chopped
  • ½ cup whole wheat crumbs
  • 1 tablespoon lemon juice
  • 1 teaspoon grated lemon peel
  • ½ teaspoon rosemary, crushed
  • 1/8 teaspoon black pepper
  • Vegetable Oil - for frying
  • Choice of toppings (Sliced Tomatoes, Pickles, Onions, Cheese, Mustard. Catsup, Mayonnaise, etc.)
 

Method

Drain and flake Salmon, reserving 2 Tbsp. of liquid. Combine salmon, onion, green pepper, bread crumbs, egg, reserved liquid, lemon juice, lemon peel and seasonings and mix well. Form into 4 or 5 patties.

Pan fry in lightly oiled skillet (about 5 minutes), or until lightly browned.  Turn halfway through cooking time.

Serves: 4-5
