Egyptian Salty Rice (Orze Madses)

This recipe is both a meat dish,and a rice dish. We might best call it a savory rice pudding.

 

  • 2 cups rice
  • 1 pound lean beef
  • 3 cups milk
  • Salt to taste

 

METHOD

 

Preheat oven to 250°F.

Clean and wash rice and soak for 2 hours.

Cut meat into 1/2 inch cubes. Combine rice, meat, and milk and pour into a flat casserole. Add salt. Bake at 250° F for 30-35 minutes.

Serves: 4 - 6
