Shrimp Boil

Though we call this 'shrimp boil,' Junior has given suggestions for turning this into a full meal, complete with corn and potatoes.

  • 4 quarts water
  • 2 bottles beer (optional)
  • 2 lemons, quartered
  • 2 onions, quartered
  • 3 tablespoons Old Bay Seasoning
  • 1/4 cup fennel seed
  • 2 tablespoons black peppercorns
  • 2 tablespoons coriander seed
  • 1 tablespoon red pepper flakes
  • 2 bay leaves
  • 4 whole cloves
  • 1 teaspoon sea salt

METHOD

Add all to cold water. Bring to boil. You can add shrimp, or, make this a one-pot meal by adding 2 small red potatoes per serving. Cook 10-15 minutes till almost done.

Add corn on the cob, broken in half, and cook till almost done, about 15 minutes. No add shrimp and cook till pink, about 4 minutes.

Drain and serve as you like.
