New Hampshire Fruit Cookies

Nutritious fruit cookies for winter.

  • 1 cup butter
  • 1 ½ cups sugar
  • 3 eggs, well beaten
  • 1 ½ tablespoons water
  • 3 ¼ cups flour, sifted
  • 1 teaspoon baking soda
  • ½ teaspoon salt
  • ½ teaspoon cinnamon
  • ½ cup raisins, chopped
  • ½ cup currents, chopped
  • 1 cup walnuts, chopped
 

Method

Cream butter and sugar together until light and fluffy. Add eggs and water; beat thoroughly.

Sift dry ingredients together and add to mixture with fruits and nuts. Mix well.

Drop by teaspoonfuls on to a greased cookie sheet and bake in preheated 35°0F for 15 minutes.

Makes 48 cookies
